Clear Choice SAT Prep began in 2005 as a traditional SAT tutoring company. In the beginning we relied heavily on many of the standard tutoring resources
(i.e., big heavy books) utilized by other traditional tutoring companies.
Our quest to achieve uncommonly high score improvements led us to create additional worksheets to patch the weaknesses of these standard resources. Soon,
our "patches" accounted for the bulk of our instructional material, and the decision was made to complete a comprehensive SAT prep system.
The resulting worksheets have become known as modules due to the fact that they can be rapidly swapped in and out of a student's course as necessary depending
on that particular student's needs. The unique and engaging format of these modules effectively introduces new concepts, efficiently builds basic proficiency,
and thoroughly ensures comprehensive understanding by reinforcing the most important concepts.
The second major innovation in our company arose from our now pressing need to quickly and accurately identify each student's strengths and relative weaknesses.
To meet this challenge, we began developing an online Flash application called PrepLink.
Launched in 2007, and extensively enhanced in 2009, PrepLink enables a tutor to instantly analyze a student's proficiencies on each of more than 150 concepts.
PrepLink enables a tutor to assign precisely targeted online homework assignments as frequently as the tutor wishes - or as often as the student will tolerate.
And because PrepLink is an online Flash application, the student may complete these assignments from any Internet computer in the world. Assignments are scored
and analyzed the instant the student clicks the submit answers button. That however, is only the beginning.
A PrepLink homework assignment is not considered complete until the student views a series of solution videos, one for each SAT problem they missed. Each video
solution demonstrates how to employ simple, reliable strategies to solve a particular SAT problem. Video solutions also include brief concept review and tips for
avoiding careless mistakes.
All of this precisely guided self-study drastically enhances the efficiency of the course, as the student receives answers to his or her questions the instant they
arise, not days later. Furthermore, tutors need not spend precious time correcting homework during lessons. This, in turn, frees up time for the tutor to cover
additional new material, which results in greater overall preparation and a higher SAT score.
