How to Help Our College-Bound Seniors Stay Focused on the Horizon
Life after Spring Break is a whirlwind for our college-bound seniors. Final exam and ACT®/SAT® test prep, college campus visits, college applications, scholarship applications—a senior’s To Do list is seemingly endless. With the end of their final high school year on the horizon, it’s imperative that they stay on track.
We’ve compiled essential tips, tasks, and reminders to help your college-minded seniors balance their responsibilities and keep their focus through to graduation day.
Springtime Challenges
This time of the year is a challenge for all students. A combination of final exams and ACT®/SAT® test prep, final projects, college planning, extracurriculars, and life outside of school all culminate in the spring.
It is critical for students to prioritize, not overextend; stay organized and keep a scheduled routine; maintain clear goals and objectives; be flexible and adjust plans as needed.
When it comes to juggling final exams and ACT®/SAT® test prep, balance is the key. Dual planning can be done, but those plans need to be straightforward and intentional.
Advise your clients to start studying early. Being ahead of schedule makes a huge difference, allowing time to puzzle out different strategies for troublesome content in more challenging subjects and providing ample time to fully prepare will give them a major advantage.

What to Do After Test Day
With Test Day checked off their To Do lists, what’s next? We’ve put together some useful tips on what students and tutors need to do once Test Day is over.
Submit Those College Applications!
Our seniors should have already narrowed down their college search by this point in the year, but if they’re still on the fence, now is the time for them to make a decision!
Remind them to be meticulous in following application instructions to ensure that they don’t face any unnecessary obstacles that could potentially lead to a rejection or a waitlist.
For our seniors who have received college acceptance letters, but have not yet formally accepted their spot, National College Decision Day is May 1st, so advise them to make that final decision!
Fending Off Senioritis
A large part of why this time of the year is so challenging is because our students are ready for summer; they’ve worked hard all year, they’re looking forward to an extended break to just be kids, and who can blame them? Senioritis is real, and it’s important to help our clients overcome the temptation to give up and coast through the rest of the school year.
Even for our seniors who have already nailed the ACT®/SAT® and have been accepted to their choice schools, there is still plenty of work to be done. GPA and grades matter now more than ever—this is their last big push to boost those scores!
And don’t forget about scholarships—now is a great time to nab those college scholarships and merit awards!
Senior year is an exciting time for our clients; but the added stress, pressure, and daily challenges can be grueling! Offering tailored test-prep and academic support is key to supporting your seniors as they work through the final phases of their college-bound journeys.
