Ready to Spring Forward? Here Are the Springtime ACT® and SAT® Test Dates

As we approach the season of new beginnings, move our clocks forward (groan), and keep our umbrellas at the ready, we need to prepare our students for the spring challenges ahead.

As Leo Tolstoy wrote, “Spring is the time of plans and projects.” No truer words for our students as they move toward the most stressful part of their school year. Between state testing, keeping up with their coursework, college prep, and studying for their ACT® or SAT®, springtime is full of an overwhelming amount of plans, projects, and tasks. 

One major task that cannot be overlooked is registering for one of the upcoming ACT® or SAT® tests. If they have not already registered, advise your students to do so soon. Having that planned test date on the books will not only check off a major task on their to-do list, but will give them a fixed date to focus on to achieve their academic goals by. 

Here are the upcoming test dates for both the ACT® and SAT®, respectively. Notice, there aren’t many dates left for students looking to increase their test scores by the end of the school year. 

Spring/Summer ACT® Dates

April 15, 2023

  • Regular Registration Deadline: March 10

  • Late Registration Deadline: March 24

June 10, 2023

  • Regular Registration Deadline: May 5

  • Late Registration Deadline: May 19

July 15, 2023 (*check the ACT website for more information on testing locations for this date)

  • Regular Registration Deadline: June 16

  • Late Registration Deadline: June 23

In addition to the aforementioned test dates, remind your college-bound students that we are just a few months shy of National College Decision Day, May 1st. I know, I know, “It’s still February!,” but it’s important to keep track of these major dates and deadlines during the whirlwind that is springtime in high school.
